PROSTIFESSIONAL | Chronicles by Deborah Esi | Poetry | PROSTIFESSIONAL SERIES

Prostitution is the debasement for profit or impure motives, we all know for sure that it involves engaging in sexual activity with another person for pay and also having more than one sexual partner.
One intriguing thing about this act of whoredom is that it's one the oldest professions in the world. Everyone is only interested in you now as a prostitute but no one ever remembers your past as being a major and big time investor in the present. 95% of the individuals which are involved in this act of whoredom are not to be blamed for the situation they find themselves as they see it as a means of overcoming the pressure they find themselves in, one of which is popularly known to be poverty. Other reasons for indulging in such act could be peer pressure and environmental pressure.

...engaging in sexual activity with another person for pay and also having more than one sexual partner

As a child I was molested and seduced,
No, poverty can't only be it, but trust
Growing up, I faced series of unbearable torments
Depression became my closest friend;
Sleep with peace of mind, were not even in the same Galaxy with me.
Prostitution is a sickness, one of which is caused by a horrible and terrifying past which I unknowingly and unconsciously became a victim of.
I don't want it
But it keeps coming,
I can't help it;
My past has left me vulnerable,
I try to seek refuge
But it's to no avail
I run to a religion
But I'm scared
of condemnation, rejection and criticism
Then I pull back
I whirl in my situation,
Forgetting that there's nothing like an endless tunnel.

...everyone is only interested in you now as a prostitute but no one ever remembers your past...

Now I'm all grown up forgetting and not even realising what it takes to love
My world of relationship is in chaos and I'm not sure how to put an end to it
I become weak even in the presence of the timid.

I'm certainly a center of attraction,
Smart brains, cute eyes, tempting lips with the sexiest body.

So finally I'm in the Atlantic ocean, in the middle of a great storm
There are ships around me that are stretching out for me to go onboard
But I'm left in a dilemma,
Not knowing who the pirates are
So I still whirl around all the ships but never get in;
I slowly became a reptile in the clothing of a dolphin;
I suppose my biggest investor was feeling fulfilled.

But just at the end of the storm, the sun shines more beautiful and glorious than I had ever seen then I realized that there could be hope for me and just there after, I figured I was with a life jacket and the shore wasn't so far away...
I live life more beautiful now, Still a center of attraction but worth more!
