I HAVE A DREAM FOR NIGERIA | Poetry by Oluwole Oluwatobi Solomon

I have a dream for my country, Nigeria
I see glorious days ahead of you
Nigeria, that you shall be great once more
I can see a new Jerusalem in you
Where the doubters bow to you
And confess their abnormalities

I have a dream for my country Nigeria
I see where poor and rich dine together
Where there is no discrepancy
Among the Hausas
Among the Ibos
Among the Yorubas
And everyone dwells in harmony

I have a dream for my country Nigeria
I see the out gone politicians biting their fingers
Echoing in their hearts,
We had done foolishly to you Nigeria
Saying in a sad mood, how can we be set free?
Because of our devilish acts

I have a dream for my country Nigeria
I see a place of serenity
Free of corrupt leaders
Misappropriation,
Embezzlement,
Insecurities,
Child Abuse,
Drug Abuse and trafficking,
Selfishness and dubious acts
I can see an abode of love
Where leaders are full of fear of God
And the reign of God dwells heavily in your coast Nigeria!
