ODE TO SEA WAVES | Poetry by Hassan Jalal Weshah

O waves, blue waves, you are restless
You are the pulses of the troubled sea
That moves in a way which is endless
I think it longs for things on the bay

The waves do touch those grey stones
They hug the stern of an old boat
A motion indeed creates sweet tones
Hence all sailors to dance are brought

To sailors, O waves, you are melodies
They sing as you soften your tune
Their pains, by this, may get remedies
My pains, O waves, are deep in the zone

The sea, like me, is full of grief
Its waves perform their dance in vain
This is to tell the story in brief
A bird indeed may dance of pain
