POLITICS | Article by Ajay Alex Eastlife

So I was walking on a street recently, and I saw some political postal bills pasted on every wall around, I was quick to noticed the sponsors. I have to let you know that the bills were in support of APC presidential candidate (PMB), so when I saw the sponsor, it made me reason; they were the PYO (Professor Yemi Osibajo) supporters group.

I was like "does this mean they don't care anything for Buhari as long as PYO will be there?" and that's the problem!

I am not a politician, and if you'll be patient enough, I promise, I won't be biased, there will be no sentiment.

Just that we all need to wake up. The citizens, politicians and even the government, wanting to lead should not be a do or die affair, that's on the part of politicians; and citizens need to know that it's not about who we want, it is about who we need, but how do we know who we need? The truth is anybody who is willing to lead is who we need, and if the politicians are doing it right then any of them can be who we need.
Government is the reason why we are all lost on political issues, we can't deny the fact that they belong or were elected from a political party, but once they get there, they ought to put that behind them and be for everyone unbiased.

...wanting to lead should not be a do or die affair... and citizens need to know that it's not about who we want, it is about who we need, but how do we know who we need...

In fact, I think we need to make amendments to our constitution, no one should contest for a second term and once you get into office, you no longer belong to any political party. I am saying that the government (officials) are not meant to serve a particular party, they should serve everybody and equally. That way, leadership will be leadership, voters won't need to worry for who they're voting for, politicians won't be desperate to get an office (there won't be killings in defense of one's party, and there won't be human rituals in the name of winning at all cost)

I am saying that the government (officials) are not meant to serve a particular party, they should serve everybody and equally

The citizens need to know that our unity is key if we really want change, and it doesn't matter if our preferred candidate win or not, what matters is unity, love and service. We don't need to campaign against each other, all we need is your agenda, then wait... If you win, fine. If you don't, you've got nothing to lose.

I'm not surprised when I see people, who are loyal to APC, want Atiku to be elected... The problem is not just starting, and it will continue until we get it right.

Many today are in support of Buhari because of PYO or because of the bad sides of Atiku, while many want Atiku because they will have anyone rule but Buhari. How long will this continue?

If this message can reach our government, they are the only one who can really start this change. We want to love, unite and serve together. We want our Nigeria to rise again. But we citizens too, the election is here already.
Let's drop all sentiments. Vote for who you want and don't make an enemy of your friends or family who don't. It is not a must that your candidate wins.

Oga politicians, if you really want to lead, you don't need to strife or even strive... If you're elected, please don't do your best, do what is expected of you. And if you're not, that's not the end of the world, you can still serve others in so many other ways.

...vote for who you want and don't make an enemy of your friends or family who don't...

Finally everyone... I am begging. Vote love. Immediately after casting your vote for that person, don't forget to vote love... When you vote love, it means no matter the outcome, you'll still be useful to your father's land.
It doesn't matter who wins the election, what party win is only a joke. We need a leader and not a looter or taker. Whoever wins will need the support of the citizens, and we must be there to give them.

I am voting for Love
