TREES - Poetry by Omope Oluwasayo

Smiling when the sun comes up,
time to make breakfast for her children.
Mama being so hospitable prepared for others too.
Palm oil and water are available,
All she needs is nature's breath.
People will soon start passing by,
Seeking a taste of her delicacies,
Men and beast alike,
They are all welcome at her table.

The sky is about to let out some tears,
The sky's tears are mama's joy.
Men and beast flee from the sky's teary eyes,
To find shelter in her little hut.
Winged creatures find solace in her secret place.
The sky's tears are blessings to mama,
Its time to make good the golden seeds papa sent,
I guess I was also formed on a day like this.
