TORN HEART - Poetry by Evans Mutie

She took away my heart
With only a single blush
In her world, I came first
All was boring but with me

She cheered up my heart
Lit it with every color
Passion in her boiled
Her warmth could hatch an egg

But now she's gone
She left in my heart a hole
A sword she stuck in the sides
And a dagger at the center

My trust she broke for women
For money, she left her honey
Our dreams she poured
Into the waters of the oceans

My heart she tore
But went with a part
The ugliest part she left
For me to agonize in pain

She left
I know she's gone
Hopefully, she will return
To tell me what she earned
When she left me in the cold.
